ANN ROBINSON - Star of 1953 WAR OF THE WORLDS
to be receive LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD at Fireside Foundation's
Dinner with the
Stars.
Considered by many as the "greatest science
fiction film of the 1950s" WAR OF THE WORLDS is one
of those films that is not only a classic in its own right, but has
been responsible for the "creation" of many of the genre films that
came after it.
As a young actress of 17-18 years of age, Miss
Robinson created a character that has become near iconic in the genre.
Although she made films before and after, she will forever be known
for that role and that film.
Miss Robinson, still an active actress seen
recently in the Steven Spielberg version of War of the Worlds, will
receive the Fireside Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award
at the “Dinner
with the Stars,” to be held at the Legends Cafe, 500 N. Carpenter
Road, on September 23, 2005.

STEVE WOZNIAK - co-Inventor of the personal
computer and co-founder of Apple Computer Company to be
honored at Fireside Foundation's Dinner
with the
Stars.
Named as one of the 10 most significant achievements
in scientific history, the development of the personal computer,
with its subsequent advances and refinements, has made it possible
for the “average Joe” to become a “movie mogul.” Steve
Wozniak, and co-founder Steve Jobs, are credited with the development
of the first truly personal computer, and the creation of Apple Computer.
Plus the MacIntosh computer is a standard for many in the film editing
field.
For his hard work, creativity and the impact that this invention has
had on society in general, Mr. Wozniak has been honored by many different
organizations. The Fireside Foundation will honor him specifically for
his contribution to independent film. Mr. Wozniak will receive the second
Fireside Foundation Technical Contribution to Film Award at the “Dinner
with the Stars,” to be held at the Legends Cafe, 500 N. Carpenter
Road, on September 23, 2005. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with a no host cocktail
